Professor Ning Wang is the Leonard C and Mary Lou Hoeft Endowed Professor in Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ning Wang conducts research in the area of cell mechanics, mechanotransduction, mechanobiology, and mechanomedicine using novel experimental technologies and theoretical analyses. Prof. Ning Wang and colleagues discovered integrins as mechanosensors and developed the magnetic twisting cytometry technology. Prof. Wang received American Physiological Society Scholander Award in 1991 for his contribution to comparative physiology. Prof. Wang holds Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree in Physiology from Harvard University.
